South Africa announces 15-member squad for T20 World Cup

South Africa has announced a 15-member squad on Tuesday, April 30, for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup in June.

Aiden Markram will lead the Proteas in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.

According to ICC, Aiden Markram will be leading the South African team for the first time in a big event of the T20 World Cup.

Moreover, the notable additions to the team included Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje.

Both De Kock and Nortje were recently excluded from the central contract list of Cricket South Africa.

Nortje has been sidelined from international cricket since September 2023 due to a back injury.

Meanwhile, De Kock announced retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) after the ICC World Cup 2023.

South Africa will play its opening match of the World Cup against Sri Lanka on June 3 in New York.
