Kate Beckinsale has made a triumphant return to the red carpet after a challenging period marked by a health scare.
Her appearance marked the first red carpet attendance after an extended hospital stay for an undisclosed health issue.
The Underworld actress attended the red carpet for the inaugural King's Trust Gala in New York City on Thursday, May 2.
While conversing with PEOPLE she opened up about her health, "It's been a rough year."
She added, "Because my parents have both been unwell and my cat ... it's been a bunch of things. So that's why it's nice to come and see friends and have a little perspective. Everyone's had a bit of a rough year, I think."
Beckinsale donned a delicate one-shoulder sheer white organza gown with a sculpted wave-like structure from her shoulder to the hem.
For her footwear, she opted for open-toe platform heels and accessorized the look with a pair of one-strand diamond dangle earrings and a couple of diamond rings.
The star-studded event was attended by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Penélope Cruz, Rita Ora, and Kate Moss.
For the unversed, Kate Beckinsale took a hiatus from public spottings and she focused on her health.
