Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power new trailer has caused a stir among fans as it revealed its release date and also offers insights into its second season.
At Amazon's first upfront presentation in New York City on Tuesday, Prime Video unveiled a compelling teaser video, debut date, and plot synopsis for the second season of the Lord of the Rings drama series.
In the new trailer, Charlie Vickers reprised his role as Sauron, with a dramatically distinct look, “one that will aid him in deceiving the denizens of Middle-earth.”
The upcoming season will take viewers back to J.R.R. Tolkien's Second Age and promises to portray "the ascending evil presence of Sauron as he continues his vengeful quest for complete power."
Soon after the trailer dropped, the fans couldn't hold the excitement and flocked to the comment section to express their anticipation.
One fan noted, “I can't wait to see Gandalf and Voldemort face off at the prancing pony.”
Another commented, “Can't wait to see Gandalf tell Picard he's a wizard before they turn on the Stargate”
The third stated, “Can't wait to watch their “calling Sauron at 3am challenge’”
To note, the teaser trailer comes after Warner Bros. announced a new LOTR movie, The Hunt for Gollum, set during Tolkien’s Second Age and produced by Peter Jackson.
The second season of Lord of the Rings is produced by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, with directors Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Louise Hooper.
It is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video on Auguat 02, 2024
