King Charles meets PM Rishi Sunak for finalizing two big tasks

King Charles given one week commitment by Rishi Sunak

PM Rishi Sunak met King Charles for discussing the latest development on United Kingdom’s general election today, on May 22.

He informed that a polling date of July 4, 2024 has been settled for while entrusting two very crucial tasks to Your Majesty.

Now, King Charles has one week’s time to gear up for dissolving the parliament within the next seven days so that voting can finally take place.

As per Sky News, election campaigns will roll out for the next five weeks following this major announcement, then the elections are to be observed.

Although Rishi Sunak stops by the Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles weekly, such big news crop up rarely.

The Monarch’s other important commitment is to postpone any engagement that can distract him from the upcoming elections.

He will be taking his seat to shake his schedule up later.

After concluding this meeting, Rishi Sunak passed the word on by making an announcement outside prime minister’s residence in London.

He said, “I hope that my work shows that we have a plan and are prepared to take bold action about what is needed, even when that has been difficult. Now is the moment for Britain to choose it’s future.”
