Selena Gomez has opened up about her plans to adopt motherhood before her romance with music producer Benny Blanco after Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber announced their first pregnancy.
While conversing at the Time 100 Most Influential Companies event, the Only Murders in the Building star, shared her plan to adopt a child herself if she hadn't found a suitable partner by the time she turned 35.
“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” Gomez said.
The Single Soon hitmaker continued, “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.”
She added, “Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
Earlier, the Calm Down hitmaker's beau shared his plans to have a family with the Wizard of Waverly Place star, while speaking on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show, Benny said, “That's my next goal [to check] on the box. I have a lot of god kids, I've got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.”
To note, Gomez's recent comments about her adoption plans and future motherhood come on the heels of her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey's announcement that they are expecting their first child together.
