Prince Harry is gearing to take his multisport event the Invictus Games to next level as he shared surprising update on the same in new statement.

Harry in his official statement has confirmed about his return to the UK along with wife Meghan Markle for the Invictus Games as Birmingham made a successful bid to host the event in 2027.

The UK city will be unveiled as the Invictus Games next host in an official ceremony today July 23, 2024, but Harry and Meghan won’t be in attendance.

In his statement, Harry has extended warm wishes for the event noting, "Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027.”

He continued, "Your city's strong ties to the armed forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start. Over the years, we've seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families and spectators.

Hinting at his return to UK with Meghan he added, "We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all - something your city knows well.”

For the unversed Meghan Markle has not returned to the UK since the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
