Ranbir Kapoor is under fire for his recent statement about wife Alia Bhatt’s “personality change!”
In a latest podcast with Nikhil Kamath on Saturday, July 27, the Animal actor opened up about his wife Alia Bhatt, their first meeting, and the changes she underwent after their marriage, which soon sparked outrage among Bhatt’s fans.
During the interview, Kapoor said of the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actress that she used to speak in a “very loud tone” before marriage.
“I think my father's tone, growing up, always rattled me. So she really made efforts to change that. And that's not easy when you've lived 30 years of your life speaking in a certain way," he said.
The Burfi actor continued, "She's someone who instinctively reacts to say if Raha falls down. There's a reaction that throws me off."
When discussing the ways Bhatt helps him feel at ease, Kapoor confessed, “I hope I could say there's something I did to put her at ease, but I don't think I've done it yet.".
This statement of the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor received severe backlash from the netizens who called him “a control freak” and a “red flag husband.”
