Zendaya's determination to land a role in the 2015 Disney Channel movie Descendants was evident as she auditioned "many times.”

Cornelia Frame, a former vice president of casting and talent relations at Disney Channel shared that the Dune star made a lot of effort to get a part in the original TV movie.

"Zendaya auditioned for Descendants multiple times, and that was a big deal," Frame stated in a recent Magical Rewind podcast interview.

The executive added, “It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over and really wanted it. It just ended up not going her way.”

She continued, “Now that I think about it, I'm like, '’Would Spider-Man have happened right at that same time?’ Things happen for a reason, and you do often book this other thing that's amazing when you don't get something else.”

Zendaya “put so much effort and so much work into, it, too. It's just one of those things,” Frame noted.

In 2015, the Disney Channel debuted the musical fantasy film Descendants, which followed the story of Jafar, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent's children–the Evil Queen.

When it debuted, Zendaya was starring in K.C. on the Disney Channel.
