Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are shielding Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet away from the spotlight, and the reason is quite sad!

As the Duke of Sussex seeks increased security for his family, the memory of Princess Diana’s fatal car chase death weighs heavily on him, particularly now that he is a parent.

In the latest PEOPLE Magazine's cover story, a friend close to the prince revealed, "Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats.”

“He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm,” he added.

The source further continued to tell that the dad of two is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.

Many of the insiders have previously disclosed to PEOPLE how Prince Harry believes that King Charles possesses the power to reinstate his security; however, this perception of him is “wholly incorrect.”

The prince, who stepped down from his royal responsibilities after tying the knot with actress Meghan Markle, is taking all these measures into account in order to avoid any kidnapping or other violence.
