Saturday Night Live won’t witness Punkie Johnson’s humor in season 50!

Johnsons has announced her departure from SNL after four seasons on the show.

The stand-up comedian and actress joined Saturday Night Live in 2020 and became a repertory player in 2022.

Johnson made the announcement at a live comedy show in Brooklyn's Union Hall on Wednesday evening, before posting a video on her Instagram confirming her departure on Thursday.

“I just want to let you know after four seasons, I will not be returning to SNL for the 50th,” she revealed in the video.

Johnson went on to share, "But yo, man, SNL was a dream I didn’t even know that I could achieve. Man, I was a part of one of the most elite institutions in comedy, and I am so grateful for it.

"That’s still my people, I love them, I’mma be at the after parties acting a plum fool, but, you know, my time there has come to an end," she added.

Alongside the video, Johnson penned, "SNL I LOVE YOU… LOOKING FORWARD TO WHATS NEXT!!! PUNKIE OUT!!!!"

Punkie Johnson's departure comes as SNL prepares to celebrate its historic 50th season, which premieres on September 28.
