ChatGPT creator OpenAI is currently withholding the latest AI tool launch amid fear that new features will make chatbots unpopular.

According to Gadgets 360, OpenAI has built a tool that is capable of detecting ChatGPT-created text but does not want to release it to the public now. The artificial intelligence company has a fear that the new tool will push users away from ChatGPT.

As per a Wall Street Journal report, the company has been debating about the release of the tool for the past two years.

OpenAI has a fear that it will lose its existing ChatGPT users if it launches a tool with the feature of detecting AI-generated text. They also did a survey to learn about users' opinions on such tools, and it was found that nearly one-third of the users said that they would be less interested in using ChatGPT if any anti-GPT tool was released.

Meanwhile, it is believed that the release of such a tool will help educators and other places where people are using AI to create content like writing essays or research.
