Looks like Sima Taparia from the hit Netflix series Indian Matchmaking is extremely picky about her clients, as she refused to register actress Nausheen Ali Sardar in her agency.
Bollywood actress Nausheen Ali Sardar revealed that she was denied services by the famous matchmaker Sima aunty on the basis of her religion. Nausheen is well-known in the industry because of her famous 2001 drama series— Khusum.
Now that the actress is ready to settle down and start a family, Nausheen and her family approached the famous matchmaker but was denied to be catered to for being a Muslim.
Expressing her disappointment over the entire ordeal, Nausheen said: “I mean it’s 2021! Yes, I am a Muslim, so what? I have an equal right too in society.”
The actress further added, “My family was insisting on getting me enrolled on a matrimonial site since the lockdown was going on, and I wasn’t even going on dates or anything as such. So they thought of approaching Sima Aunty, the famous marriage maker from the show Indian Matchmaking. We were in a shock when she blatantly told us on our face that she did not cater to Muslims or Catholics.”
Disappointed by the show for not showing Sima Aunty’s real “mindset”, Nausheen went ahead and left a review on the matchmaking agency’s official social media but her family made her take down the post for safety.
“They feared that somebody would harm me because of my venting."
After seeing all the unfair discrimination in her life, Nausheen said that she has become even more open-minded about what she’s looking for in a soulmate:
“Tomorrow if I am to get married, my criteria of selecting the guy will be based on how liberal and open-minded he is and not depend on whether he is a Hindu or a Muslim."
