I wanted to be an actor since birth, says Meera

Pakistani actress, Meera appeared on a talk show and revealed why she had to change her name when she entered showbiz industry. Last week, there were rumors about her being sent to psychiatric hospital in the US that was debunked later.

The host asked the Baaji star if she always wanted become an actor, to which she responded, “I wanted to be an actor since birth and I was very good at my studies too. But an achiever, no. I failed sometimes and still do.”

The host asked if she had ever fallen in love, Meera replied, “I fell in love, very hard, but I don’t know if I have won or lost.”

Meera spoke about scandals she has been part of, she stated, “The biggest, however, includes a video, and a marriage. They are far from the truth.”

She added, “Saari khabren automatically banjati hain [Everything turns into a news on its own]. Seriously, sometimes I wish I’d generate news myself.”

Meera was also asked why females actors in entertainment industry change their names while male actors don’t, Meera shared, “My real name is Irtaza Rubab. It was a big name so people felt Meera would be short and cute. I figured let’s keep it then.”
