Met Gala 2025 theme is here!
Vogue announced the 2025 theme of fashion’s biggest night on Wednesday.
The theme of the event, which is set to take place on May 5, 2025 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
According to Vogue, the theme will “take the Black dandy as its subject, examining the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.”
An impressive lineup of co-chairs was also announced, which includes actor Colman Domingo, race car driver Lewis Hamilton, rappers A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams and, editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour.
Last year, the 2024 Met Gala, which was co-chaired by Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, celebrated with theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, which showcased 50 historical outfits that were too delicate to be worn again.
The official dress code of this year’s event was “The Garden of Time,” inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962’s short story.
Met Gala, the fashionable extravaganza, takes place on the first Monday of May, every year.
