Famed Pakistani actress Sumbul Shahid passed away after losing her battle to Coronavirus in Lahore.
Shahid, who is the sister of renowned Pakistani showbiz stars Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas, was taken to the hospital in Lahore a month ago, due to complications after testing positive for coronavirus.
Sumbul had been on ventilator for the past few days before she lost her battle against the novel virus on Thursday.
The saddening news of her demise has been confirmed on Twitter by Bushra Iqbal, former wife of TV host Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
Earlier, Ansari had turned to her Instagram handle to inform about her sister’s ill-health and asked everyone to remember her in their prayers. She captioned it, “Mere piaree behn sumbul shahid(pappo) uth jao ..hum pareshan hain...get well soon...khuda k liay..theek hojao."
