Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has been widely celebrated for her beauty, but the actress had opened up about not always having it easy.
Aishwarya was crowned Miss World in a beauty pageant in 1994 for her beauty and elegance. But, in conversation with Wild Films India, she opened up about the struggles and hurdles she had to overcome before becoming successful.
In an old interview, Aishwarya revealed that she bagged her first modelling gig before she participated in the beauty pageant. Her life took a new turn in her college days when she was approached by her photography professor. She relayed:
''I had a professor in my college and she used to work as a photojournalist for a magazine. So once, she requested me for a fashion feature because she had a deadline for her assignment and I did it.”
This instance encouraged her to pursue modelling, and then eventually take part in the beauty pageant. Aishwarya shared that she feels people only took her seriously and started listening to her once she had won the title of Miss World.
She further admitted that her famous exotic eyes and hair colour have definitely helped her in getting the “attention” from the world.
“When I was young, I got the attention because of my blue eyes and the hair colour. People used to call me cute, but winning the title of Miss World was like as if I am flying high in the sky,” she shared.
