King Felipe steps out for key royal engagements after 11-M victims memoriam


King Felipe has attended the IX Intergenerational Meeting Forum of Forums – La Granja 2025.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, March 7, the Spanish Royal Family shared two posts, updating about the Monarch’s latest engagements.

The Palace reported that King Felipe stepped out to visit Basilica of Jesus of Medinaceli in Madrid which was followed by his visit to La Granja de San Ildefonso.

In the morning, the King of Spain fulfilled a more than 300-year-old tradition by visiting Basilica of Jesus of Medinaceli, where the image of a 17th century Nazarene Christ of great devotion among the people of Madrid is located.

“After visiting the Basilica of Jesus of Medinaceli in Madrid, where the image of Christ of Medinaceli is located, the King has moved to La Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia), to attend the “IX Intergenerational Meeting Forum of Forums – La Granja 2025,” read the post’s captioned.

Briefing about the meetings, the Royal Family shared that the aim of these gatherings is to create a space where ideas and proposals can be freely expressed under the Chatham House Rule.

Chatham House Rule is a set of guidelines for meetings promoting free discussions and the sharing of information without revealing the identity of participants.

The caption elaborated, “These meetings aim to be a space where ideas and proposals can be freely expressed under the Chatham House Rule, and where people take time to think and reflect, talking and discussing cross-cutting issues and taking advantage of the great added value of coexistence and intergenerational relationships.”

These engagements come just a day after King Felipe and Queen Letizia marked the 21st death anniversary of 2004 Madrid train bombing victims by attending a memorial concert.
