King Charles has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Italian President Sergio Mattarella for his gracious hospitality with sweet gesture.

The royal couple attended a dazzling state banquet at the Quirinale Palace on Wednesday, April 9 where King Charles expressed his appreciation for the president's hospitality.

As a token of gratitude, The King's Piper, accompanied by five Regimental Pipers, performed a special concert after dinner.

Taking to its Instagram account, the British Royal family shared a heartwarming video of the sweet moment.

In the clip, King Charles, Queen Camilla and the president could be seen enjoying the performance as they sat at the lavish dinner table with other guests.

“Honouring Italian tradition at the Quirinale State Banquet with an ‘evento di restituzione’ — a reciprocal gesture of gratitude,” the palace wrote in the caption.

It further added, “After dinner, The King’s Piper, joined by five Regimental Pipers, performed for guests to thank President Mattarella for his warm hospitality.”

Their Majesties were joined by many guests including Andrea Bocelli, Rocco Forte, Paul Smith, Giorgio Locatelli and Brunello Cuccinelli at the official residence of the Italian President.

The state banquet also coincided with a special milestone - King Charles and Queen Camilla's 20th wedding anniversary, which fell on April 9.
