On Wednesday, September 10, the American right-wing political activist made an appearance at Utah Valley University to address a large outdoor gathering hosted by his nonprofit, conservative political organization Turning Point USA.

During his speech, Kirk was shot by an unidentified suspect, following which he was rushed for emergency medical treatment.

After being in critical condition for over an hour, the activist was reported dead by US President Donald Trump.

Taking to his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead.”

He continued, “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
