The US President Donald Trump recently announced that the police have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

“I think we have him. I think with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody," the US president revealed in an interview with Fox and Friends on Friday, September 12.

Trump added, “And we started off with a clip that made him look like an ant, that was almost useless. We just saw there was somebody up there. And so much work has been done over the last two and a half days."

The suspected killer has been identified as Tyler Robinson who was born in 2003 and lives in Utah.

The President Trump stated that the suspect's father helped the authorities hand his son over after the FBI released two photos of a "person of interest."

On Wednesday, September 10, American conservative activist Kirk was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University during a Turning Point USA event.

He was then taken for emergency treatment but after being in critical condition for over an hour, he was reported dead by President Trump.

In the released video of the killer, the individual can be seen running on a roof, firing the deadly shot, then jumping several feet down and escaping into a nearby wooden area.

Later, the FBI released two blurry photos showing a white man wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and a black sweatshirt with an American flag and eagle.
