Ruby Rose has returned to the spotlight with a worrying update months after Katy Perry’s investigation drama.
The Orange Is the New Black actress has issued a statement on her official Instagram account, leaving fans and the internet in a frenzy.
On Tuesday, June 30, Ruby shared CCTV footage of herself swimming in the pool; however, the dive went wrong, resulting in a serious injury.
Playing the iconic song of popular rock band The La’s, There She Goes, in the background of her video, she wrote, “That’s your girl!” with a hilarious hint at her rib injury as she dropped a ribs emoji.

She also wrote, “RIP to my ribs and to the rest of my summer. They are broken; multiple straight to hospital did not go or collect 200 dollars.”
However, after fans raised their concerns about the injury, Ruby further revealed on Threads, writing, “One second I’m here talking to you. The next I’m in the hospital with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday [sic.]”

As her new post garnered attention on social media, fans flocked to her comment section to express concern for her health.

What was Katy Perry and Ruby Rose investigation drama?
This update marked the first months after she accused Katy Perry of the bombshell sexual abuse allegations.
For those unfamiliar, the drama emerged between the two when the actress initially claimed on social media that the Watch It Burn hitmaker assaulted her at a Melbourne, Australia, nightclub.
The detail that grabbed headlines was the one about Katy rubbing her private parts on Ruby’s face.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh*t what she thinks,” she shared on social media.
Notably, the allegations came at the time when the singer made a surprise appearance with her current boyfriend, Justin Trudeau, at the 2026 Coachella Music Festival.
However, Katy Perry’s camp fired back at the accusations and strongly denied the claims, while labelling them “categorically false” and “dangerous, reckless lies.”
Despite denying the accusations, Victoria Police in Australia confirmed that detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) launched an investigation into the reported incident.
After filing a police report, Rose indicated on social media that she was beginning her “healing process” and would cease discussing the matter publicly while authorities handled the situation.
