Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley's love story is one for the history books, and while the love was strong between the two, their separation was just as tumultuous.
Elvis met Priscilla in 1969, when he was serving the army in Germany. His future lover was only 14-years-old then, and lived in the same place as her father was employed in the Air Force.
On their first meeting, the Heartbreak Hotel singer was swooped away by Priscilla’s beauty as soon as he looked at her. This was because she somewhat looked like his mother, Gladys Love Smith Presley, as revealed later.
They soon started talking, even exchanging various personal problems with each other.
Priscilla told People in 1985, “Each night that I was with him he entrusted a little more of himself – his doubts, his secrets, and his frustrations. It was a lot to expect from someone of my age to understand.”
Then, the former lovebirds suddenly stopped communicating, and when Elvis flew back to America in 1963, they started dating, eventually getting married in 1967.
Troubles only started erupting when their daughter Lisa Marie Presley was about to be born. By this time, only seven months had passed since they tied the knot, and Elvis already asked Priscilla for separation, reportedly because of cheating on her.
Even Priscilla was involved in an affair with Mike Stone, her karate instructor. The couple thought that they’re not happy in each other’s company, so they finalized a divorce in 1972.
