Hamza Ali Abbasi, who is currently in the limelight for playing Shahram in popular drama Jaan-e-Jahan got candid about his hit play, Alif, aired on Geo TV in 2020.
During his candid conversation with Next Level Backstage on the set of Jaan-e-Jahan, Hamza was asked how was his experience doing his hit drama Alif.
To which the Pyare Afzal actor responded, “My life was altering and that drama sort of gave a glimpse into what was already happening in my life.”
He continued, “It’s not like my life changed because of that drama, but that show was a very good mirror for the people that my own life, four or five years before Alif, was going through the exact same levels.”
Expressing how he felt about doing Alif, Hamza continued, “I felt really happy for doing that drama because the script of Alif contained the message, that I wanted to convey to the masses in one way or the other.”
“So, I did that script purely because of the content in it, though I disagree with a few things about it. But, I did it for the message in it,” he noted.
Hamza Ali Abbasi went on to share, “it was a labour of love and that’s the only reason I did it, I thought these things should get to the people, because our drama medium is very powerful and it hits the subconscious minds of the viewers.”
Jaan-e-Jahan marks Hamza Ali Abbasi’s second project with renowned actress Ayeza Khan, as they previously appeared as an on-screen couple in Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar’s hit Pyare Afzal.
