Urvashi Rautela has revealed that Sushmita Sen had asked her to give up the Miss Universe title that she had won in 2012.
Speaking to Mirchi Plus, the model said, “When I won Miss Universe India for the first time in 2012, our boss was Donald Trump. The age limit was 18.”
“Even I didn’t know that I was 17 after I won. I was 24 days short from the age limit,” she elaborated.
At that time, Trump co-held the Miss Universe organization, and the person who was responsible for picking Indian representatives was Sushmita, who requested her junior to step down.
“She told me, ‘You can’t go…’ At that point, I felt like the biggest loser of my life,” Urvashi voiced her feelings, adding that the Main Hoon Na star even questioned those age rules.
Soon after, she joined the Hindi entertainment industry by starring in the 2013 film, Singh Saab the Great, and going on to appear in one of Honey Singh’s most popular music videos from 2014 called Love Dose.
But the celebrity still eyed the competition, eventually participating once more in 2015 and winning the crown again.
“I am the only girl who won Miss Universe India twice,” she ended her narration proudly.
While Sushmita is known for winning the pageant once in 1994, Urvashi has not only won it twice, but is also called Youngest IITian and the Youngest Most Beautiful Woman in the Universe.
