Kareena Kapoor has disclosed that husband Saif Ali Khan is confused over why Bollywood buffs have given him the “intellectual” title.
Appearing for a chat on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the host asked whether she had fallen in love with her significant other’s intelligence when they had initially started dating.
Responding to this, the actor shared that they can’t figure why people started perceiving Saif as a quick-witted guy.
Their guess is that maybe it’s because he reads a lot of books, but that’s a very basic thing for a human being to attain knowledge from, which is why they’re puzzled.
Kareena said, “This idea of Saif’s intelligence… he is like, ‘Why is everybody always saying that?’ Ok, he reads books! Books are meant to be read, and it’s the most normal thing ever.”
“So, I am like, ‘I don’t know.’ He is well-read because he is interested in reading. But he is not interested in worldly politics. He’s not some economist or something like that,” she added.
After making these estimations, the star mentioned why her partner seems clever in her own opinion.
She stated, “He’s intellectual in the sense that maybe he thinks a lot more, more deeply.”
Now, the twist here is that the internet actually calls Saif intelligent in sarcastic fun.
The term was adopted because of his old viral interview, eugenics statement, ignorant take on nepotism, leaving for vacation while daughter Sara Ali Khan and ex-wife Amrita Singh were being investigated by NCB, and other such acts.
