Sonya Hussyn recalls 'horrible' wardrobe malfunction: 'my halterneck blouse snapped'

Sonya Hussyn's saree slip turns into a memorable performance at Hum Awards


The Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn, along with her sister, made a guest appearance on Nida Yasir's show Shan e Suhoor, where she recalled a horrible incident from an award show.

During the interview, host Nida Yasir praises the Mein Hari Piya actress for always carrying her saree look beautifully; while asking Sonya if she ever faced any saree mishaps?

In response to her question, Sonya Hussyn reflected on a wardrobe malfunction happened recently at the Hum Awards, where she wore a beautiful pink sequined saree with a halterneck blouse.

The Meri Behan Meri Dewrani actress told Nida that an "another actress called me from behind and said, 'Hi Sonya!' And I turned to say hello," she continued, "When I turned my head, the halter top snapped from behind my neck and fell."

Sonya went on to explain, "I turned to Nauman Ijaz and his wife and said, 'Oh no, my halter top has broken, what do I do?"

The Mohabbat Tujhe Alvidah actress revealed right when she was panicking, the award show hosts Yasir and Ali Rehman Khan approached her and requested Sonya to sing a song.

"There were multiple cameras on me, so close to my face in a panicking moment, I spontaneously started draping my saree around my neck and arms as I stood up," Sonya explained.

She furthered, "on the request of the hosts, I started singing the National song Dil Dil Pakistan and asked Atif Aslam, who was sitting there, to join in, and that is how I saved myself from embarrassment."

Sonya recently received the prestigious Pride of Performance award from the council of Pakistan in the United States for her excellent work in the industry.
