A third installment of Dune is reportedly in development following the remarkable success of the first two films in Denis Villeneuve's franchise.

Deadline reports that Dune: Part 3 will adapt the second book in the series, Dune Messiah, offering fans a sneak peek into the rich universe he created.

Dune: Part 2, which starred Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet in the lead roles, grossed over $631 million worldwide, the highest grossing film of 2024.

However, now the groundwork for the screenplay of the third franchise is in the works and fans cannot wait to watch.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s role in the upcoming  franchise following her cameo appearance in Dune: Part 2 has created widespread anticipation among Dune fans.

Villeneuve himself has confirmed the new project. 

It is pertinent to note that post Dune: Part 3, the renowned Canadian filmmaker will start his work on the film adaptation of Nuclear War: A Scenario based on the event of a nuclear war and exclusive new interviews with military and civilian experts.

The ensemble cast of Dune 3 is yet to be finalized but the likes of Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Lady Jessica Atreides might appear.
