
Famous Pakistani folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away in Lahore on Friday.
According to his son Ameer Shaukat Ali, the late singer's funeral prayers will be offered in Samsani Johar Town in Lahore between Maghrib and Isha.
Earlier, Ameer had requested everyone to pray for his father’s health as he was suffering from multiple health issues, including liver failure and diabetes.
The Ghazal maestro was born into the family of artists in Malakwal and started his music career in 1960.
Ali’s singing career lasted for around five decades.
His famous patriotic songs include Apna Quaid Aik Hai and Saathion Mujahidon Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan. The folksinger also received Pride of Performance award.
