Amy poehler shares deep insights from 'Inside Out 2' journey and its relatable themes

Amy Poehler shared insights into her emotional journey making inside out and foresees relatable storylines for audiences.

“When I get to work on it, it's so deep,” Poehler recently told in her interview with PEOPLE magazine exclusively, reflecting on her involvement in the 2015 Pixar and Disney animated film and its forthcoming sequel.

"It's like conversing with your inner child, your parent self, your present self, and even your future self." Poehler further added.

Personal epiphanies happen in the voiceover booth “big time,” she adds. “You have to really go there. It's really satisfying to do it.”

Formerly Poehler, received the Vanguard Award at the 2024 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on April 11, she displayed Inside Out 2 footage to an audience at Caesars Palace.

The Parks and Recreation star claims that when reading about a preteen navigating puberty, people naturally start associating themselves with it.

“That feeling of, ‘Who am I? How should I act?’ The inner feeling of, ‘What should I be worried about? What should I let go of? How do I take care of myself?’ We can all relate to that Poehler expressed.

Inside Out 2 features Riley, a 13-year-old girl played by Kensington Tallman, as she steers what Poehler refers to as "a moment in a young person's life where they're trying to figure out, 'What are my values?'" through the lens of her inner emotions.

The film's capacity to arouse joy, fear, sadness, and anxiety among viewers.
