Hamas has rejected Israel's latest proposal on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in the territory of Gaza.

According to Reuters, Hamas said it had submitted its response to Qatari and Egyptian mediators regarding a ceasefire proposal on Saturday and had demanded a ‘permanent cease-fire.’

Hamas explained, “We.. reaffirm our adherence to our demands and the national demands of our people with a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the entire Gaza Strip, the return of the displaced to their areas and places of residence, intensification of the entry of relief and aid, and the start of reconstruction.”

As per Voice of America, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued the Israeli intelligence agency statement on Sunday stating that Hamas had again declined the Gaza truce proposal.

Moreover, the statement said the rejection “proves that (Hamas Gaza chief Yahya) Sinwar does not want a humanitarian deal and the return of the hostages is continuing to exploit the tension with Iran and is striving to unite the sectors and achieve a general escalation in the region,"

The Israeli intelligence agency also guaranteed that Israel will continue to follow its objectives and will ‘leave no stone unturned to return the 133 hostages from Gaza forthwith.’

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed a permanent ceasefire and has pledged to send troops to Rafah, a city in southern Gaza.
