President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Friday, April 26, addressed a meeting of the International Jerusalem Platform that brought lawmakers from all around the world to Istanbul.
According to the Turkish publication Daily Sabah, Erdogan promised that he would continue to work for the noble cause of Palestine.
Turkish President linked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with ‘Hitler’ and said that he will be remembered as the ‘Butcher of Gaza.”
Erdogan said, “With the belief that defending Jerusalem means defending humanity, peace, and respect for different beliefs, we'll continue to struggle with determination."
He criticises the Israeli government for the “Merciless killing of 35,000 Palestinian in the last 203 days.”
Erdogan furthered, “They think they can cover up the crimes they commit in Gaza with their media and lobbying power. We will never bow to your threats and pressures."
He also claimed that Turkey is the only country ‘implementing export restrictions on 54 products of Israel.”
Moreover, Erdogan also denounced the United States for its ‘unconditional support for Israel’ and alleged that the US unconditional support ‘escalated the conflict.’
Erdogan added, “When it comes to Israel, the West forgets about values such as democracy, freedom, law, freedom of expression, thought and press freedom.”
