Ben Affleck had made a surprising wild card entry at The Roast of Tom Brady, but ended up being the one facing heat from fans who were watching the Netflix special.
He was labeled “unhinged” for his speech by a user on X and simultaneously trolled by many others.
Viewers particularly suspected that the actor has gotten a fresh plastic surgery because his face on stage seemed very different to them.
At the event, he had gone on a “bizarre” rant to criticize social media users who attack Tom Brady.
Ben Affleck said, “Fans have your back. You guys out there talking s – – t, all right, behind your f – – king keyboard, that doesn’t make you a fan. That makes you a bitch!”
Adding that many athletes have to read unkind comments despite giving their best while playing, he mentioned, “I can’t think of a more f – – ked up, dysfunctional, horrible working system designed to perpetually make people feel awful.”
But after about six minutes, the celebrity himself noted that his bellowing wasn’t actually landing nicely.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get this chance again. I’m probably never going to work again, actually, after tonight,” he confessed.
Meanwhile, people on X haven’t ceased making fun of Ben Affleck yet as they compared his speech to a “car crash.”
One wrote, “Ben Affleck couldn’t afford good plastic surgery? No wonder he seems so angry. That’s permanent.”
