John Krasinski and Steve Carell, who played the characters of Jim Halpert and Michael Scott respectively in The Office, opened up about returning for series' spinoff.
During the premiere of his upcoming film IF on Monday, John revealed that he is open to make cameo in spinoff if he is asked by Greg Daniel, who is the executive producer of both the original and new show.
He noted, "As of now, I haven't been asked, But the truth is I'd do anything for Greg Daniels, it sounds like they have a really fun idea."
Meanwhile, Steve Carell also revealed that he is excited to watch the show but he does not have any plans to make appearance in new series.
The Crazy, Stupid, Love actor expressed, “I will be watching but I will not be showing up. It’s just a new thing and there’s really no reason for my character [Michael Scott] to show up in something like that. But I’m excited about it, it sounds like a great conceit.”
A decade after the original series The Office concluded, a spin-off is finally in the works.
According to Peacock, the production of untitled series will begin in July this year.
As of now, only two cast members Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore have been officially announced, while further casting details, title and a release date are yet to be revealed.
John Krasinski and Steve Carell, former co-stars of The Office, are reuniting for their upcoming film IF, releasing in theatres on May 17, 2024.
Krasinski has written and directed the film, while Carell gives his voice to the lead character, Imaginary Friend Blue.
