Prince William has followed his father King Charles’ footsteps as he became the colonel-in-chief of Army Air Corps.
During a recent ceremony at military base, Charles praised the Prince of Wales and handed over the prestigious role to him.
The royal family and Prince and Princess of Wales social media accounts jointly shared the snaps of the ceremony and captioned it: "Today, at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, The King officially handed over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps - the combat aviation arm of the British Army - to The Prince of Wales."
The first photo featured the father-son duo are striking a pose in front of a helicopter. While in another picture, Charles and William can be seen surrounded by soldiers at the military base.
The series of snapshots from the ceremony garnered thousands of likes and comments.
A fan wrote, “Absolutely so well deserved! Prince William is a loyal and dedicated man so proud have him as our future King.”
Another commented, “King Charles and Prince William make a great team. They are professional and focus entirely on the causes they are supporting and representing, and the people they meet, rather than on themselves. The future of the monarchy is in capable hands.”
King Charles III was the colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps 32 years ago before his eldest son succeeded him.
