Dolly Parton has penned a heartfelt tribute to her 9 to 5 co-star Dabney Coleman on Monday.

Dabney, who was an Emmy-winning actor, passed away at the age of 92 on May 16, 2024.

Dolly praised her friend in a tribute post on Instagram, “Dabney was a great actor and became a dear friend. He taught me so much when I was doing my first movie, 9 to 5."

She added, “He was funny, deep and smart. We remained friends through the years and I will miss him greatly as many people will.”

Furthermore, Ben Stiller also remembered the late star in his tribute post.

Ben wrote on his social media account, “The great Dabney Coleman literally created, or defined, really – in a uniquely singular way – an archetype as a character actor. He was so good at what he did it’s hard to imagine movies and television of the last 40 years without him.”

Dabney died in his home in Santa Monica on Thursday, his daughter Quincy Coleman confirmed the shocking news with Associated Press.

As reported by THR, she said, “My father crafted his time here on Earth with a curious mind, a generous heart and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity.”
