Meghan Markle may be headed to the White House soon in a bid for US presidency, say experts who believe she has her ‘eyes on the prize’.
The Duchess of Sussex has fueled speculation about her alleged foray into politics after her Suits co-star Erika Alexander claimed that Meg was ‘heading to the White House’, soon after her return from a successful trip to Nigeria with Prince Harry.
Now, as per Mirror UK, a political insider from California has also hinted that Meghan’s success in Nigeria may fuel her presidential ambitions further.
“She [Meghan] has her eyes on the prize,” the insider said, with another source suggesting: “The buy-your-success thing is more suited as a Republican play.”
The source also added: “Meghan has political ambitions but like most celebrities or business people, they are not ready to put in the graft to get there. Maybe Oprah Winfrey could pull it off. But she's put in the hard yards in other ways. Meghan hasn't done anything.”
This comes as US political expert and ace historian Christopher Phelps also suggested that Meghan may have serious political ambitions.
Mail Online quoted Phelps as saying: “… Her name will open doors but that you can't just say, 'you all know who I am - vote for me’… She will need to have some substance on policy.”
“Americans want to know how she would protect their jobs, where she stand of tax and to tackle crime in their neighbourhoods.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Nigeria earlier this month for three days to promote the Invictus Games.
