Kylian Mbappe is happy to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG) on the winning note with his ‘head held high’ as the team wins the French Cup finals.

PSG, on Saturday, May 24 night, beat Lyon 2-1 in the league finals at Stade Pierre-Mauroy stadium in the northern city of France, Lille, TRT Afrika reported.

Mbappe announced this month that he will the French Club PSG at the end of the league after being associated with the team for seven years during which he became the top scorer with 256 goals.

Mbappe joined the team from Monaco in 2017 in a 180-million-euro deal and has won six Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups and two League Cups with PSG.


After winning the match star footballer told reporters, “To finish with a trophy in a final, there is no better way. It feels really good,”

He expressed, “All I wanted was to end things well with my club, with a trophy. I think there is a time for everything and I will announce my future club in good time.”

Mbappe added, “I think it will be in a few days, so there is no problem. I don’t know when yet. There are still some details (to be sorted out), but the most important thing was to finish on a high here.”

Mbappe’s contract with PSG has now ended, and it is expected that he will join Real Madrid. However, neither the player nor the Spanish giants have made any announcement yet.

Mbappe will team up with the France squad in the coming days to prepare for Euro 2024.
