Jeremy Renner, who is gearing up for the release of The Mayor of Kingstown season 3 discussed why he left the Mission: Impossible franchise and if he would ever return to Tom Cruise’s action-thriller.

During his conversation with Collider, the Rennervations host was asked about returning to Mission franchise as he was last appeared in 2015’s Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

Renner revealed that he "had to leave" the franchise because "it requires a lot of time away" for filming.

He added, "It’s all in London. I had to go be a dad. It just wasn't gonna work out then.”

The 53-year-old actor further clarified that he "was supposed to do more with them," but the timing just didn't fit.

"I love those guys,” added, “I love Tom [Cruise] so much. We had so much fun, and I love that character a lot."

However the actor also hinted at his possible return to the franchise as Brandt, as he noted that "maybe now that my daughter is older, that could happen.”

The Avengers actor added, "I'd always jump into a Mission: Impossible anytime and back into Brandt. It’s great.”
