Ryan Reynolds has given a hilarious response on the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine at the global box office.

Deadpool & Wolverine set the record straight by becoming the eighth-biggest debut of all time as an R-rated action movie.

Reynolds, who was busy during the promotion of his blockbuster movie with director Shawn Levy and co-star Hugh Jackman, got candid about the mega success of Deadpool & Wolverine during a dialogue with The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday.

He shared, "Disney probably doesn't want me to frame it this way, but I've always thought of Deadpool & Wolverine as the first four-quadrant, R-rated film. Yes, it's rated R, but we set out to make a movie with enough laughs, action and heart to appeal to everyone, whether you're a comic book movie fan or not.”

Reynolds revealed that R-rated films left a huge impression on him as a kid.

The Free Guy star told the NY Times, “they left a huge impression on me because I didn't feel like people were pulling punches, and it's been a huge inspiration to so many of the things that I look to make now.”

For the unversed, Deadpool & Wolverine opened to an estimated $205 million (£159 million) at the box office.
