Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly commanding a staggering salary well above $80 million to portray Doctor Doom in two upcoming Avengers movies.

As per Variety, the source shared that the Sherlock Holmes star is demanding "significantly more" than that to play Doctor Doom, even if the directors Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, have been lured in to direct the Avengers flicks in exchange for a salary of $80 million.

According to the report, the "performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds" are a part of the agreement with the Russos, but "back-end compensation" is not included.

The Avengers flicks will also be co-produced by the directors.

However, in addition to his enormous salary, Robert Downey Jr. is said to receive a few benefits. The report mentioned, "A whole 'trailer encampment,' dedicated security, and private jet travel are just a few of the perks that come with his deal.”

To note, Robert said that he will be portraying Doctor Doom, the antagonist of the Fantastic Four, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after announcing his retirement from the MCU in 2019, following the release of Avengers: Endgame.

He unveiled this news at the Marvel panel in San Diego Comic-Con Hall H.
