Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are set to join the team for the upcoming thriller The Housemaid, a captivating adaption directed by Paul Feig under the banner of Lionsgate production.

According to Variety, the Anyone But You star and Mamma Mia starlet will grace the big screen in a psychological thriller, which is an adaptation of the popular novel by Freida McFadden.

In a highly anticipated film, Sweeney will play Millie, a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to wealthy couple Nina and Andrew.

As per the report, Nina’s character will be played by Seyfried.

The official logline revealed, “Millie soon learns the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”

“I’m thrilled to have ‘The Housemaid’ join our upcoming slate,” Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair, said in a statement.

It added, “A great filmmaker and a great cast with a great script from a great book is a terrific place to start. My prior work experiences with Paul and Amanda have been nothing short of spectacular, and Sydney is as talented and compelling as can be.”

Notably, Rebecca Sonnenshine is adapting the screenplay.

Sweeney and Seyfried also served as executive producers alongside Alex Young and McFadden.

Todd Lieberman, an executive at Hidden Pictures, will be in charge of production.

Carly Kleinbart Elter will supervise the project for Hidden Pictures as Feig and Laura Fischer will be involved in producing.

Chelsea Kujawa and Erin Jones-Wesley are supervising for Lionsgate and the studio's deals were negotiated by Robert Melnik.
