King Charles’ ongoing cancer battle has affected his upcoming royal trip to Australia with wife Queen Camilla.
Due to his high-profile trip, the monarch had to stop his treatment which turned out to be a major concern for doctors.
After a series of discussions with health specialists, Charles decided to remove the New Zealand stop from his itinerary.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said, "In close consultation with the Australian and New Zealand prime ministers, and with due regard for the pressures of time and logistics, it has therefore been agreed to limit the visit to Samoa and Australia only.”
"Their Majesties send their warmest thanks and good wishes to all parties for their continued support and understanding,” the statement further read.
King Charles will continue his cancer treatment once he returns to the UK.
The royal couple last visited Australia back in 2018, when they represented the late Queen Elizabeth II at the Commonwealth Games.
Camilla and Charles are set to embark on a royal tour to Australia and Samoa from October 18, 2024 to 26, 2024.
