Queen Margrethe personally honored Tone Roald by presenting her with the prestigious Science Prize.
The Palace of Denmark took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that the former Danish Queen recognizes her groundbreaking work as she presented the Queen Margrethe II’s Science Prize 2025.
Sharing the glimpses of the event, the Palace wrote the caption, “How does art influence our minds and our understanding of the world? This is one of the central questions that Tone Roald has examined throughout his research in phenomenological psychology.”

They continued, “Today, her groundbreaking work was recognised, when Her Majesty Queen Margrethe personally presented Queen Margrethe II’s Science Prize 2025 to Roald.”
The palace added further, “Roald has, through her research, explored how we experience art on a physical, emotional, and affective level, and how these experiences can provide us with new insights into the nature of the psyche. Her work demonstrates how art can create meaning and well-being in a complex world, and how it can help us find peace and understanding both in everyday life and during challenging times.”
Notably, Queen Margrethe’s recent outing came after she reopened the historic Viking Longhouse at Trelleborg following extensive renovation.
