
King Charles charmed guests at a state banquet in Italy with a touch of royal wit.
Celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary with Queen Camilla, the British Monarch playfully thanked President Sergio Mattarella for hosting what he called a “small romantic, candle-lit dinner for two.”
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Buckingham palace offered a peek into the glamorous State Banquet in honour of the King and Queen.

In a shared post, King noted the caption, “Today marks, as you say, The Queen’s and my twentieth wedding anniversary.”
King Charles added, “On that score, I must say it really is very good of you, Mr. President, to lay on this small romantic, candle-lit dinner for two...!”
He concluded, “This evening, at a State Banquet hosted by The President at the Palazzo Quirinale, The King delivered a speech.”
For the event Queen Camila exudes elegance in a green lace gown by Fiona Clare, with a glittering turquoise and diamond necklace.
While, the King sported a black tie with his UK Order of Merit neck order and the OMRI (Italian Order of Merit) star with a selection of British Orders, Realm and Jubilee medals.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were welcomed by President Mattarella's Aide-de-Camp, General Marco Nasi.
