WhatsApp announced a range of significant updates across chats, calls, and channels, offering an improved messaging and calling experience.
One of the most significant improvements is an “Online” indicator that appears at the top of a group chat, showing users how many people are online, Techcrunch reported.
Another latest group chat feature lets users outline specific notifications.
Users can now enable the “Notify for” setting and choose “Highlights” to limit notifications for the incoming messages from saved contacts or “All” to get all notifications.
In addition, another upgrade allows users to scan and send documents to an iPhone.
iPhone users are also allowed to set WhatsApp as their default messaging and calling app.
For video calls, Meta-owned WhatsApp has added cutting-edge technology for an enhanced video calling experience.
Notably, the app has enhanced its bandwidth detection, enabling HD-quality video calls.
Furthermore, the event feature has also received a significant update with the ability to RSVP as “maybe,” invite a plus one, add an end date and time, and pin events, making them easier to find.
Channels have received three major updates, as admins are now able to record and share short videos with followers and share unique QR codes that link directly to their channel.
WhatsApp has also allowed users to write a written summary of voice message updates from channels, ensuring an streamlined user experience.
