In a surprising new update on Friday, September 5, Taylor Swift skipped her fiancé Travis Kelce’s Chiefs’ season opener in Brazil, which marked the NFL star’s first match after their engagement last week.
The 14-time Grammy-winner was noticeably absent from Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener, as the team faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo
According to the insiders who spoke to TMZ, “It's not a shocker Taylor skipped the international game ... since none of the WAGs made the trip. It's just a 2-day jaunt leaving no time for the fams to intermingle. Plus, it's safe to assume security for Taylor played a role in the decision-making.”
It was also shared that since the lovebirds recently got engaged and are reportedly planning to tie the knot, Taylor Swift has been busy preparing for the release of her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will likely result in another world tour.
These commitments and obligations could explain why the Cruel Summer hitmaker decided to skip her fiancé’s season opener in Brazil.
However, Taylor Swift will most likely mark her attendance to cheer on her fiancé, Travis Kelce, when the Chiefs will play against the Dallas Cowboys at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14, 2025.
