Al Pacino finally issues heartbreaking statement on ex Diane Keaton’s death


Diane Keaton’s death has left Al Pacino “shaken.”

Days after the legendary actress’s tragic passing due to pneumonia, her ex-boyfriend has broken his silence, expressing deep pain and heartbreak.

Speaking to Deadline on Thursday, October 16, the 85-year-old American actor opened up about his emotions after the Father of the Bride actress’s death over the weekend.

In his heartbreaking statement, Al Pacino shared that he is deeply “shaken” by Diane Keaton’s death, stating, "When I first heard the news, I was shaken.”

"Diane was my partner, my friend, someone who brought me happiness and on more than one occasion influenced the direction of my life. Though over 30 years has past since we were together, the memories remain vivid, and with her passing, they have returned with a force that is both painful and moving,” he added.

He went on to say, "She lived without limits, and everything she touched carried her unmistakable energy. She opened doors for others, inspired generations and embodied a once-in-a-lifetime gift that radiated through her work and her life."

While concluding his statement, the Scarface actor expressed that the Book Club actress has always been in his heart and she always will.

"People will miss her, but more than that, they will remember her. She left a mark that cannot fade. She was unstoppable, resilient and above all, deeply human. I will always remember her. She could fly — and in my heart, she always will,” he added.

Diane Keaton and Al Pacino began dating during the filming of their 1972 hit film, The Godfather.

The two dated on an off for about two decades, between 1970’s and 1980s, and finally called it quit after filming The Godfather 3 in 1990.
