Shahid Kapoor’s discussions for a movie with OMG 2’s director Amit Rai are quickly progressing.
An insider told Pinkvilla, “Producer Ashwin Varde and Shahid have been in talks for a film based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Things are slowly falling in place.”
The duo was reportedly in search of the right director for a long time, and after sitting for multiple chats with Amit, they finally think of having found the best fit.
“While Shahid has agreed in principle to spearhead the film, all the paperwork and announcements will happen once a studio comes on board for the project. The makers are in talks with several top financers,” the source added.
It is said that the picture will handpick some brave chapters from Indian ruler Shivaji’s life.
To retell his historic stories with good VFX support, creators are looking to collaborate with a worthy studio before entering the production phase.
Until then, Shahid is busy filming for Rosshan Andrrews’ Devaa, which is a cop-based action thriller. He will be moving on with a high-budget Sachin Ravi movie alongside Vashnu and Jackky Bhagnani next.
