Gulshan Devaiah has opened up about how Anurag Kashyap’s divorce from friend Kalki Koechlin affected their relationship.

Editor Suman Sharma reported as part of a textual Filmfare interview that the star was asked why he hasn’t been working with Anurag despite beginning his acting career with the filmmaker.

To this, Gulshan started his response by hinting at an upcoming project: “I didn’t work with Anurag Kashyap after Shaitan, but I’m now working on a film with him. He is my senior. He gave me work, so I respect him.”

“When he married my friend Kalki Koechlin, we met frequently. When they both broke up, it impacted my relationship with him because Kalki is a close friend of mine. But now everything is fine,” the actor further explained their link.

Gulshan debuted under Anurag’s direction in the 2010 thriller, That Girl in Yellow Boots, also starring the French actress.

The following year, he was seen in Shaitan, which was released shortly after Kalki and Anurag had tied the knot in April. They parted ways in 2015.

Since then, Gulshan hasn’t worked in a production headlined by the Bombay Velvet maker. He has however remained a close friend of Kalki’s throughout.
