Natalie Portman, who reportedly finalized divorce with Benjamin Millepied last month in France, nearly a year after their secret separation, aims to focus on her children’s co-parenting with ex-husband.
As reported by PEOPLE, a close friend of the former couple has exclusively revealed about Portman that, “Her biggest priority has been ensuring a smooth transition for her children.”
They further noted, “She and Ben really love their kids and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. Nothing is more important."
This update comes shortly after the news of Natalie Portman’s divorce with Benjamin Millepied broke on Thursday.
The news was confirmed to PEOPLE by a source close to Portman, who shares a 12-year-old son Aleph and a 7-year-old daughter Amalia with her 47-year-old husband.
As per the source, Portman filed for divorce with Millepied in July, 2023, after finding out about his extra marital affair in May.
A close friend of the former couple spilled, "It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it."
They added, "Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she's come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work."
